There is a non-consensual sexual assault committed to the male main character by the female main character in this book. It is on page. I do skim over it as not to make it too unbearable. He is not afraid, only angry, so you will not have to experience any fear through him as that would have been quite distressing. I would never do something like this to my characters needlessly, so please understand that there is a legitimate reason for it and everything will make sense only a few pages later.
Also, as there are in many Witch novels, there are often Witch Trials such as burning at the stake, drownings, and cliff falls. The female main character endures one of these and is saved and healed by the main male character. Of course, she is suffering mentally from her trauma.
