Important: this is not a skippable book within the series. Despite the triggers listed, skipping this book will leave a massive hole in the overall series arc, and you will miss out on important information and interactions with other characters. Skipping A Soul to Revive will make the next book, which is directly tied to this one, difficult to read.(There is no cliffhanger, so don’t worry.) I promise that I give a HEA at the end, and everyone will find a bride.
Trust in me.
If you need a place to scream about your emotions during the book, or need a vent space for some of these triggers, consider joining my discord server. There are plenty of readers who will be more than happy to guide you, support you, and be there for you during any part of this book. We have a spoiler section, and I am often around. You can find the link to it in my linktree across any of my social media platforms, or at the end of this book.
Please only read further if you have triggers, otherwise you will seriously spoil the book for yourself.
Firstly, I will list what triggers AREN’T in the book so you can stop reading before the upcoming spoilers.
NO: rape, non-con, purposeful harm done to the FMC by the MMC, self-harm, ow/om drama, mental/emotion abuse, fat phobia, incest, abortion, drug/alcohol abuse, breeding, or animal abuse. There is also no pregnancy with the FMC.
Please consider stopping here if your trigger has been detailed above as the rest are major spoilers.
Triggers are: Infertility, and dealing with this while being around a pregnant mother. The FMC does not get pregnant herself. She is fully accepted and supported during this emotional time. However, if that isn’t something you can handle reading due to trauma, I am so sorry you have faced hardship.
Healed scarring, vivid memories of being burned, and the insecurities this brings. Self-sacrifice. Toxic past relationships. Anal. There is a scene with slight dub-con done to the MMC, mainly because he doesn’t know what his peepee is and the FMC is panicked, confused, and just trying to help the poor guy. She does get verbal consent to continue once he understands, and there is a lot of comedic relief from the FMCs chaotic thoughts.
Intense loss, family loss, intense grief, and hopelessness. Lack of direction and self-worth due to not only one vital death, but later a second. Depression and PTSD, resulting from trauma. Torture, medical/surgery torture, mostly off-page, but is being witnessed by a main character. Blood, wounds, and gore. A minor, but quickly resolved, attempt at suicide.
